Southern Lights Centre Facilites

The Southern Lights Centre is set in a simply stunning environment, surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna and a deep pure energy that promotes peace, tranquility and heightened awareness. It is the ideal place for a wedding or for groups and/or individuals who will find the quiet, reflective surroundings a supportive environment.

Various facilities are available:

to groups wishing to run their own small to medium retreat, workshop or event
as an intimate wedding venue
small classes and meetings
those looking for quiet a weekend get-away
individual retreats

There are several options depending on your needs.

We invite and welcome you to the centre to view our special place at any time. Please do contact us for further details and to discuss your requirements.

Accommodation

$65 per person per night.

This includes the use of all facilities

There are:

3 cabins each with a single bed
1 cabin with a double bunk below and single bunk above
4 single beds in a dormitory in the main building
1 double bed in a curtained alcove off the dining room

Please be aware the following fee will commence from 1st May 2023:

An extra laundry/cleaning fee will be charged of $10 per person per visit

Facilities
Teaching room, kitchen, dining room and toilet and shower facilities, Temple, parking

Cost: $15 per person per day (9am – 5pm)
The teaching room is suitable for a seminar for up to 20 participants

As a Wedding Venue

Have you ever dreamt of having an intimate wedding in a stunning setting, surrounded by those you love?

At the Southern Lights Centre we believe that our special part of Akaroa can be the setting for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of your love.

The Package

The facilities at Southern Lights Centre can accommodate up to 20 people for weddings. The charge is $300 plus GST which includes use of the Temple, Long Bay House for the reception and kitchen facilities.

The Temple

The temple is a unique space designed to marry heaven and earth, spirit and matter, the masculine and the feminine. It is a space that stands free from any religion or philosophy and offers any person(s) from any background a place where they can connect with their essential nature, connect with each other and find true meaning in their lives.

Long Bay House

This area is a teaching and living space. It includes a fully functional kitchen, toilet and shower facilities, and an open plan room in which meetings and gatherings can be held. The kitchen has cooking and utilities (cutlery, cups etc) to cater for up to 20 people. There is seating and tables for up to 20 people also.
